Many people spend hours hunting for jobs, reading long descriptions, and rewriting their resumes again and again.
I’ve created a simple automated system that can handle most of that work for you.
It uses an automation tool called N8N to pull in your resume. It scrapes job listings and checks if each job is a match. It writes tailored resumes for the best jobs.
You still apply by hand, but the tedious part of the process becomes much more efficient.
The first part of the system is the trigger. You click one button to start the workflow.
The tool then pulls your resume from Google Docs. Once it has your resume, it uses a service called Apify to scrape job listings. In this case I’m using a scraper called Apify to collect jobs from Indeed.
For example, you can search for digital marketing roles in the United States that offer remote work.
After the jobs are collected, the workflow loops through them one by one.
The system sends each job description to the ChatGPT module. This module checks if your skills match what the job needs based on your resume. If the match is strong, the workflow keeps that job. If it is not strong, it moves on. It is not doing anything complex behind the scenes.
The system writes a custom resume when it finds a strong match. An optional cover letter for that job is also created. It then puts these into Google Docs. The title of each file is based on the job name so you can tell them apart later.
At the end, all matching jobs are added to a Google Sheet. This sheet becomes a simple list you can work through when you are ready to apply for jobs.
Think of it like having a helper. This helper reads job postings for you. It tells you which ones fit and drafts a resume for each match.
