Search is changing faster than most businesses realize.
Customers are no longer relying only on Google to find companies, compare providers, or decide who to trust. They are asking ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini questions such as:
- Who is the best provider for this service?
- Which company should I trust?
- What are the strongest alternatives?
- Which businesses operate in my area?
- What is the best option for my needs?
The answers generated by these AI platforms can influence purchasing decisions before someone ever visits a traditional search-results page.
There is one major problem.
Most businesses have no idea whether they appear in those answers.
That is why I decided to build VisiScan.
What is VisiScan?
VisiScan is an AI search visibility platform that shows businesses how they appear across leading AI systems.
You enter your website, and VisiScan analyzes your company, services, location, audience, and market. It then generates realistic questions that potential customers may ask when looking for a business like yours.
VisiScan tests those questions across platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini.
The platform then shows you:
- Whether your business is mentioned
- How AI platforms describe your company
- Which competitors appear instead
- Where your visibility is weak or missing
- Your overall AI visibility score
- What you can improve to increase your chances of appearing
The goal is simple: give businesses a clear view of a search channel that has traditionally been difficult to measure.
Why I started building it
I have spent years working with online businesses, content platforms, automation systems, and search tools.
One pattern became increasingly clear.
Businesses were investing heavily in websites, content, SEO, reviews, and social media, but they could not answer a basic question:
What happens when a customer asks an AI assistant about us?
A company might rank well on Google and still be absent from an AI-generated recommendation.
Another company might have less traffic but appear repeatedly because its services, reputation, location, and expertise are easier for AI systems to understand.
Until now, there has been no simple way for most businesses to see this.
VisiScan is being built to make that information visible and useful.
From traditional SEO to AI visibility
Traditional SEO is not disappearing. Websites, backlinks, authority, content, technical performance, and reputation still matter.
What is changing is the interface through which people discover information.
Instead of reviewing ten blue links, a customer may receive one direct answer containing three recommended companies.
That creates a different kind of competition.
It is no longer enough to ask:
Where do we rank?
Businesses must also ask:
Are we mentioned at all?
How are we described?
Which competitors are being recommended?
What sources are shaping the answer?
Does the AI understand what we actually do?
This is the area VisiScan is designed to measure.
How a VisiScan audit works
A VisiScan audit begins with the company website.
The platform studies the business and builds a structured profile covering its products, services, audience, market, and location.
It then creates buyer-focused prompts based on the questions real customers are likely to ask.
Those prompts are tested across multiple AI platforms. The results are analyzed for brand mentions, competitor appearances, positioning, accuracy, and visibility gaps.
Instead of presenting businesses with a pile of raw responses, VisiScan turns the findings into a practical report.
You can see where your company is visible, where it is absent, and which changes are most likely to strengthen its position.
Who VisiScan is for
VisiScan is being designed for businesses that rely on online discovery, including:
- Local service companies
- Consultants and agencies
- Software companies
- E-commerce brands
- Professional-service firms
- Marketing teams
- SEO consultants
- Business owners managing their own visibility
It will also help agencies and consultants run structured AI visibility audits for their clients.
What VisiScan is not
VisiScan is not another generic SEO dashboard filled with hundreds of metrics.
It is focused on one specific question:
Does your business appear when customers ask AI who to trust?
The platform is being built to turn that question into something measurable.
What comes next
I am currently working across product strategy, development, customer research, partnerships, marketing, and growth.
The early version of VisiScan is focused on making the audit process clear, accurate, and useful. Over time, I plan to expand the platform with deeper competitor tracking, historical visibility data, prompt monitoring, source analysis, and more detailed recommendations.
AI search is still developing, which means the methods for measuring it will continue to develop as well.
That is part of what makes this such an interesting problem to work on.
The next major search channel is already here
For years, businesses have tracked website rankings, traffic, reviews, conversions, and social reach.
AI visibility is becoming another part of that picture.
The companies that start measuring it now will have more time to understand how these systems interpret their brands, where competitors are gaining ground, and what needs to change.
VisiScan is my attempt to give businesses that visibility.

I will be sharing updates as I continue building the platform, testing the audit process, and learning how businesses are being represented across AI search.
